Junior Level Grip and Electric Package Recommendation

This is Film Operations recommendation for an Intermediate Level Narrative Production.

This film would require at least one person in the Grip/Electric Department as a Gaffer/ Key Grip Swing.  It is highly recommended to have two separate people for each department as the Gaffer (Electric) to set up lights and run electrical cables and a Key Grip to mold the light and assist with camera moves. We would encourage you to have an optional Best Boy Grip/Electric Swing that would assist both department heads, as well as organizing your G&E Departments staging area.

Amaran 2-pc RGBW 300 LED Point-Source Kit Accessory Add-ons:

  • Aputure Mini Lightdome SE
    • A nice basic softbox, that has a smooth wrap around subjects. This is our most commonly requested item.
  • Aputure Lantern
    • Want a soft overhead light with tons of control? A Lantern will work great on a C-Stand. Make sure to always double check a lights safety before going above talent or crew.
  • Aputure Lantern 90
    • Need a bigger spill on your overhead light? Upgrade to the 90. Make sure to always double check a lights safety before going above talent or crew.
  • Aputure Fresnel
    • The Amaran is a ‘flamethrower’ with the amount of light it can produce, however, you sacrifice directional control of the light. Add the fresnel to control it through spotting or flooding.
  • Aputure Spotlight Mount Package
    • Need more control than the fresnel? Add the spotlight package where you can use the 19º, 26º, or 36º lenses to brighten your scene.
